L’Oréal Reportedly in Talks to Acquire Medik8

French beauty giant L’Oréal is rumored to be in discussions to acquire Medik8, a UK-based premium skincare brand known for its vitamin A-focused formulations.

Medik8, founded in 2009 by Elliot Isaacs, has gained prominence for its retinal-based Crystal Retinal franchise, which has seen significant growth in recent years. The brand’s global revenues are expected to reach $115 million in 2025, following a 50% sales increase in 2024.

While neither L’Oréal nor Medik8 have officially commented on the speculation, industry insiders suggest that L’Oréal is the frontrunner in the acquisition talks. If the deal goes through, Medik8 would likely join L’Oréal’s Dermatological Beauty Division, which includes brands like La Roche-Posay, Vichy, CeraVe, and SkinCeuticals.

This potential acquisition could further strengthen L’Oréal’s presence in the dermocosmetics market, a rapidly growing sector at the intersection of skincare and medical science.
