La Roche-Posay Unveils Powerful Documentary ‘Scars of Life’

La Roche-Posay, the L’Oréal-owned dermatological skincare brand, has launched its first long-form documentary, Scars of Life, a poignant exploration of the emotional and physical impact of scars caused by acne, cancer, eczema, and other skin conditions.
Premiered globally on YouTube and screened at the brand’s Thermal Centre in La Roche-Posay, the 25-minute film gives voice to individuals whose scars tell stories of resilience, trauma, and healing. The initiative marks a bold shift from traditional skincare campaigns to deeply human storytelling.
Alexandra Reni-Catherine, Global General Manager of La Roche-Posay, shared, “We wanted to go beyond product and create a platform that honors lived experiences. Scars are not just skin deep—they shape identity, confidence, and emotional wellbeing”.
The documentary is part of a broader movement recognizing skin health as a mental health priority. According to Dr. Delphine Kerob, La Roche-Posay’s International Scientific Director, scars can trigger anxiety, social withdrawal, and depression. “One in two people live with a scar, yet the emotional toll is often invisible. This film is a call to empathy and innovation,” she said.
Scars of Life also highlights emerging technologies like 3D bio-printed skin and La Roche-Posay’s commitment to inclusive care, especially for those with chronic conditions like atopic dermatitis.
By blending science, storytelling, and advocacy, La Roche-Posay continues to redefine what it means to care for skin—and the people who live in it.
