Bajaj Consumer Care Acquires Vishal Personal Care in a Landmark Deal

In a strategic move to strengthen its foothold in the personal care market, Bajaj Consumer Care has announced the acquisition of Hyderabad-based Vishal Personal Care Pvt. Ltd. for Rs 120 crore. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Bajaj Consumer Care, as it ventures into new territories and expands its product portfolio.

The deal, finalized in two phases, involves an initial acquisition of a 49% stake, followed by the remaining 51%. Vishal Personal Care, known for its popular Banjara’s brand, specializes in natural and herbal hair and skincare products, including aloe vera gels, shampoos, and herbal powders. With a strong retail presence across 70,000 outlets in South India, Banjara’s has built a reputation for offering high-quality, natural solutions to beauty and skincare needs.

Jaideep Nandi, Managing Director of Bajaj Consumer Care, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “This strategic step strengthens our footprint in the southern markets and enhances our ability to serve evolving consumers across India. The addition of Banjara’s to our portfolio complements our product range and positions us for further expansion.”

The acquisition aligns with Bajaj Consumer Care’s vision to tap into the growing demand for natural and Ayurvedic personal care products. By leveraging Vishal Personal Care’s extensive distribution network and expertise, Bajaj aims to introduce Banjara’s products to its stronghold in Hindi-speaking markets, effectively doubling its reach.
