Fraganote Raises $1 Million from Rukam Capital to Expand India’s Fragrance Frontier

Fraganote artisanal perfume bottles with narrative-led fragrance branding

Indian luxury fragrance brand Fraganote has secured $1 million in pre-Series A funding from Rukam Capital, marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of India’s scent culture.

Founded in 2022 by Garima Kakkar and Arjun Anand, Fraganote is known for its narrative-led, artisanal perfumes like *Baked Vanilla*, *Drunken Cake*, and *Beach Holiday*. The brand crafts small-batch fragrances with high concentrations of perfume oil, aiming for long-lasting impact and emotional resonance.

The Funding Fuels:

– Portfolio Expansion: New scent-forward formats and culturally attuned blends

– Offline Retail Pilots: Immersive brand experiences across key metros

– Supply Chain Enhancement: Pan-India distribution and fulfillment upgrades

– Omnichannel Strategy: Strategic partnerships, pop-up activations, and digital engagement

India’s perfume market, valued at $281 million in FY2024, is projected to reach $873.3 million by FY2032, growing at a CAGR of 15.23%. The shift from mass-market deodorants to premium, story-rich fragrances is creating fertile ground for brands like Fraganote.

“We’re building a luxury fragrance brand that is born in India but belongs everywhere,” said Garima Kakkar, Co-Founder of Fraganote. “Fraganote stands out for its originality and deep understanding of India’s evolving scent culture,” added Archana Jahagirdar, Founder & Managing Partner at Rukam Capital.
