Hairdresser Sues L’Oréal Over Alleged Cancer Link to Hair Dyes

California-based hairstylist Hector Corvera has filed a lawsuit against L’Oréal and ten other beauty companies, alleging that prolonged exposure to chemicals in hair dyes led to his bladder cancer diagnosis. Corvera, who worked in the industry for decades, claims that the products contained carcinogenic substances that contributed to his illness.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, argues that the companies engaged in negligent conduct by failing to properly research and disclose potential health risks associated with their hair color products. Attorney Allen Smith, known for his high-profile litigation against Johnson & Johnson, is representing Corvera and plans to take on more cases related to hair dye safety.
This case raises concerns about the long-term health effects of hair dye ingredients and could have significant implications for the beauty industry.
