Sheela Iyer, Editor of Cosmetech Digital Magazine, speaks with Mukesh Mohan Agarwal, Business Head – Packaging Business at Control Print Ltd, about the groundbreaking Yoga Sachet (V-Shapes Pack), a patented innovation making waves in the single-use sachet market.

  • Tell us what inspired you to design the Yoga Sachet (V-Shapes Pack):

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: Traditional sachets, which are either three or four side sealed, are notoriously difficult to open. Often, people resort to using their teeth to tear them open. This inconvenience inspired our colleague, Mr. Christian Bruttani, to think of an alternative dispensing method. This led to the creation of the innovative Yoga Sachet, where product dispensing is achieved by simply folding the pack with three fingers.

  • Can you share your experience in sachet packaging?

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: The global sachet market is valued at USD 8.75 billion and is used for packing mono-dose or single-use quantities. This market is expected to grow to USD 14.19 billion by 2032. Our experience with traditional sachets is not good as Dispensing is always a challenge due to inconvenience in tearing or cutting due to poor quality of laminate. In contrast, the V-Shapes four-side sealed packs, which dispense product by folding rather than tearing or cutting, have received very positive feedback.

  • Explain how your innovation, the Yoga Sachet (V-Shapes Pack), works and how it addresses the purpose.

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: V-Shapes, now part of Control Print Ltd, represents an innovation in the four-side sealed sachet market. This technology is unique, innovative, and offers anti-counterfeiting benefits. Its USPs include:

  • Easy to Carry: Semi-rigid nature makes it convenient.
  • Easy to Use: Product dispensing is achieved by folding with three fingers.
  • Efficient: Ideal for packing 1ml to 30ml of liquid product with 99% product dispensing.
  • Space-Saving: Occupies minimal space, reducing supply chain costs.
  • Sustainable: Available in mono-material, supporting sustainability.
  • Anti-Counterfeiting: Patented design minimizes counterfeiting threats.

  • How about the patents?

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: We have secured various patents related to both the packing machines and the packaging material, ensuring protection and uniqueness in the market.

  • What has the response to this innovation been like?

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: The response has been superb! Companies across the cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical sectors are very receptive to adopting this technology for their product packaging.

  • Tell us about Control Print, the parent company, and V-Shapes.

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: V-Shapes was originally an Italian company. In 2022, Control Print Ltd. signed a joint venture agreement with them. After thorough market research, Control Print decided to promote this technology globally and acquired the assets of V-Shapes in 2024. Control Print Ltd is a leader in printing machines and inks in India, listed on the NSE with a turnover of around INR 35 million. V-Shapes is now part of CP Italy, a subsidiary of Control Print.

  • Is there any other aspect you would like to touch on?

Mukesh Mohan Agarwal: We are starting a manufacturing facility in India for the packaging material used with this technology. This will allow us to offer packaging materials at competitive prices, accelerating our growth as companies eagerly adopt V-Shapes Packs for their products.

The innovation brought by Control Print Ltd through the Yoga Sachet is set to revolutionize the sachet packaging industry. With a strong focus on convenience, sustainability, and anti-counterfeiting measures, this technology is poised to make a significant impact globally.
