D2C Skincare brand Foxtale Raises $30 Million for expansion

Foxtale, a direct-to-consumer skincare brand targeting Indian consumers, has successfully raised $30 million (approximately Rs 250 crore) in its Series C funding round. The funding round was led by Japanese cosmetics giant KOSÉ Corporation, with participation from existing investors Panthera Growth Partners, Z47, and Kae Capital. The funding will be used to support product innovation, market expansion, and strengthen R&D capabilities.

Foxtale, founded in 2021 by Romita Mazumdar, specializes in developing skincare products tailored for Indian skin types. The company has reported 150% growth in FY25, doubling its revenue compared to the previous year. However, despite this impressive growth, Foxtale’s losses widened to Rs 55 crore in FY24, up from Rs 19 crore in FY23. In addition to the funding, Foxtale has formed a strategic partnership with KOSÉ Corporation to enhance its presence in India. This collaboration aims to combine Foxtale’s expertise in direct-to-consumer strategies and knowledge of the Indian skincare market with KOSÉ’s global market experience.

This partnership blends international expertise with local insights, creating value for consumers and shareholders alike.” With a focus on profitability, Foxtale aims to achieve its financial goals by the end of the next fiscal year. The company plans to deepen its market footprint while enhancing product formulations to make skincare accessible and effective for Indian consumers.

Foxtale develops and markets skincare products specifically designed for Indian skin types, leveraging modern science and technology to create innovative and safe formulations. The brand operates with a lean product line of 20 SKUs and maintains a strong direct-to-consumer channel, accounting for 50% of its revenue.
