Actor Anita Hassanandani invests in Vanity Wagon

Two-year-old start-up Vanity Wagon has raised USD 200,000 (Rs 1.5 crore) in a seed round led by Agility Venture Partners, Alfa Ventures founder Dhianu Das, actor Anita Hassanandani and angel investor Sanjay Nagi. The new infusion of funds will be used by the company to expand its footprint, onboard more brands and fulfil a larger consumer base.

The Organic beauty marketplace currently services 50,000 pin codes with 85 brands. With this funding, Vanity Wagon now plans to on-board an additional 70 brands and estimates, 50,000 new users, by 2021. The two-year-old Delhi based startup was launched by Naina Ruhail, Prateek Ruhail and Sahil Shrestha.

The world is witnessing the phenomenal growth of the Clean beauty industry and a large amount of investments is being pumped into clean beauty brands. In India Clean Beauty brands, such as Mamaearth, Moms Co and Arata are seeing growing traction.

“Being a believer in clean beauty, I realised that now it’s time for India to have its own clean beauty destination. When I spoke with the founders of Vanity Wagon, I immediately knew this is going to be big,” said Hassanandani in a press statement.
