Dr. Squatch Faces Backlash Over Sydney Sweeney’s Bathwater-Infused Soap

Men’s grooming brand Dr. Squatch has ignited controversy with its latest product, Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss, a limited-edition soap infused with actual bathwater from actress Sydney Sweeney.

The soap, set to launch on June 6, was inspired by viral fan requests following Sweeney’s Dr. Squatch body wash campaign. The brand leaned into the internet buzz, announcing the product with the tagline: “You kept asking… so we kept it.”

While some fans praised the collaboration as “iconic”, others criticized it as “objectifying” and “gross”, questioning the ethics behind selling a celebrity’s bathwater. Social media erupted with mixed reactions, with some calling it “a clever marketing stunt”, while others labeled it “sexism at its worst”.

Sweeney defended the product, stating that it was meant to be “a fun, full-circle moment” and hoped it would encourage men to “take better care of themselves”.

Despite the backlash, only 5,000 bars will be available for purchase, with 100 special edition bars containing higher concentrations of Sweeney’s bathwater.
