IFF Announces Launch of China Scent Exploration Program

IFF , a global leader in fragrance and flavor solutions, has announced the launch of its China Scent Exploration Program. This comprehensive consumer learning initiative is designed to create unique fragrances specifically for the Chinese market.

The program leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and deep cultural insights to develop scents that resonate with Chinese consumers. By combining historical research, cultural analysis, and AI, IFF aims to help brands create authentic and culturally relevant fragrances.

Ana Paula Mendonça, President of Scent at IFF, stated, “The Chinese fragrance market represents one of our industry’s most exciting opportunities. By combining AI with deep cultural insights for the first time, we’re transforming fragrance development in this dynamic market, unlocking unique opportunities for both global and local brands.”

The China Scent Exploration Program is built on four strategic pillars: historical and cultural imprint, sensorial influences, consumer insights, and artificial intelligence. The initiative will tackle key market challenges, such as evolving preferences and the need for culturally authentic fragrances.

The program is part of IFF’s broader commitment to the region, including its Shanghai Creative Center, a 16,000 square-meter facility in Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Business Park, which is now IFF’s largest site in Asia.
