The US FDA unveils FAERS
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has unveiled the FAERS (FDA Adverse Event Reporting System) Public Dashboard for cosmetic products, marking a major step in transparency and consumer safety. Announced on September 12, 2025, the interactive platform provides real-time access to adverse event data reported by consumers, healthcare providers, and industry stakeholders.
Developed under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA), the dashboard allows users to query, filter, and download datasets covering a wide range of cosmetic categories, including moisturizers, shampoos, conditioners, hair dyes, and tattoo products. Updated daily, the tool ensures that the latest safety information is available to the public, regulators, and industry professionals.
FDA officials emphasized that the initiative is part of the agency’s broader modernization strategy, designed to strengthen oversight and build public trust in cosmetic safety. By making adverse event data more accessible, the dashboard empowers consumers and brands alike to make informed decisions while reinforcing accountability across the beauty industry.
This rollout reflects growing demand for radical transparency in cosmetics regulation and positions the FDA as a proactive leader in safeguarding public health in the fast-evolving beauty sector.
