Class Action Filed Against P&G and Mielle Organics

A class action lawsuit has been filed against The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) and Mielle Organics LLC over allegations that their popular Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Strengthening Hair Oil causes hair loss. The lawsuit, filed in an Illinois federal court, claims that the companies misled consumers by promoting the hair oil as safe while failing to disclose harmful side effects.

According to the complaint, the hair oil contains ingredients that have caused significant hair loss in users. The plaintiff alleges that neither the product’s labelling nor marketing materials disclose these risks, and that she and other consumers would not have purchased the product had they known about the potential harm. The lawsuit seeks certification of the class action, damages, fees, costs, and a jury trial. It also claims violations of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fraud, unjust enrichment, and violations of state consumer fraud laws.

P&G and Mielle Organics have yet to respond to the allegations, but the case is expected to draw significant attention given the popularity of the product and the serious nature of the claims.
