Dabur India Limited announced a significant move to acquire Sesa Care Private Limited, a leading brand in the Ayurvedic hair care market. The merger, subject to regulatory approvals, will see Dabur acquiring a 51% stake in Sesa Care from its existing shareholder, True North, for Rs 12.59 crore at face value.

The enterprise value of the deal is estimated to be between Rs 315-325 crore, including debt of Rs 289 crore, backed by Dabur’s corporate guarantee. This acquisition aligns with Dabur’s long-term vision to consolidate its portfolio and tap into newer growth opportunities.

Dabur’s Chairman, Mr. Mohit Burman, stated, “The proposed merger of Sesa will bring to Dabur a premium brand with strong credentials around Ayurveda that will complement our existing portfolio and strengthen our presence in the hair care category.”

The merger is expected to bring substantial revenue and cost synergies, leveraging Dabur’s extensive distribution network, category expertise, and access to key international markets. This move will also help Dabur expand its presence in the Rs 900 crore Ayurvedic hair oil market. This strategic acquisition marks another milestone for Dabur as it continues to expand its portfolio and tap into new growth opportunities in the Ayurvedic personal care and wellness segment. Industry Reactions Industry analysts have welcomed the merger, predicting it will stimulate growth and competition in the Ayurvedic hair care segment.

Dabur Red Paste took home two awards — a GOLD for the Chaubey Ji World Cup campaign in the Best Use of Content Marketing on OTT Platforms category; and a SILVER for its Makar Sankranti campaign in the Best Use of Regional Content category.

Dabur Amla Hair Oil won the GOLD for its Children’s Day campaign with Bohra Sisters in the Best Content Marketing on Social Media-Instagram category, while Odomos won the SILVER for its Contextual-Bobble AI initiative in the Best Use of Technology category.
