Samir K. Modi Invests Rs 200 Crore to Revamp Colorbar

Colorbar Cosmetics, one of India’s leading beauty brands, is undergoing a major transformation with a Rs 200 crore investment from its founder and managing director, Samir K. Modi. The revamp aims to elevate Colorbar’s luxury appeal, expand into new product categories, and strengthen its global presence.

The brand, which currently offers 1,000 SKUs, is revamping its packaging and introducing refillable makeup to align with sustainability goals. By FY 2026-27, Colorbar aims to make its packaging fully sustainable.

Colorbar is also expanding into perfumes, men’s grooming, and skincare, with plans to launch home fragrances such as diffusers and candles later this year. The men’s grooming range will debut with 8-9 products, while the skincare segment, which already contributes 30% of revenue, will see a simplified yet effective product line.

The brand operates 105 company-owned stores and is revamping its retail spaces. The new stores will feature bespoke services, including custom lipstick and nail paint creation, along with personalized packaging.

On the international front, Colorbar is expanding into the US next month, followed by the Middle East by November. The brand is also in discussions to enter Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asian markets, with plans to launch in the UK next year.

With a revenue target of Rs 1,000 crore by the fiscal year-end, Colorbar is also preparing for an IPO within the next three years, marking a significant milestone in its journey from an Indian beauty brand to a global player.
