Cipla Health Acquires Ivia Beaute to Strengthen BPC Portfolio

Cipla Health Limited (CHL), the consumer healthcare subsidiary of Cipla, has announced its acquisition of Ivia Beaute’s cosmetics and personal care distribution and marketing business. The transaction, valued at ₹130 crore (approximately $15.5 million), includes Ivia Beaute’s popular brands Astaberry, Ikin, and Bhimsaini, and is expected to enhance Cipla’s presence in the rapidly growing beauty and personal care sector.

This strategic move is part of Cipla’s broader initiative to expand its consumer healthcare and wellness portfolio. The acquisition aligns with the company’s goal to cater to the increasing demand for beauty and personal care products among India’s aspirational consumers, especially in Tier II to VI towns.

Shivam Puri, CEO and Whole-time Director of CHL, stated, “Integrating Astaberry, Ikin, and Bhimsaini into our portfolio complements our existing offerings and empowers us to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet the diverse everyday needs of our consumers.” The deal also leverages Cipla’s strong distribution network, which has been a significant factor in the success of its over 20 brands across key categories.

The acquisition will be finalized upon the completion of standard conditions in the business transfer agreement. This move follows other significant developments in the Indian beauty sector, highlighting the growing importance of this market.
